Professional Education
Following are listings of events and information created or sponsored by The Elisa Project to help healthcare and educational providers better recognize, understand, and educate others about eating disorders.
The Elisa Project’s Annual Symposium for the Prevention and Treatment of Eating Disorders
Designed to help professionals prevent, recognize, diagnose and treat eating disorders, the Symposium is planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through joint sponsorship by the UT Southwestern Medical Center and The Elisa Project. One of the country’s leading academic medical centers, patient-care providers, and research institutions, the UT Southwestern Medical Center is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. For more information, please refer to previous Symposia brochures or contact us.
Physician Tool Kit
Because eating disorders can be difficult to diagnose, The Elisa Project has created a diagnostic tool that primary care physicians and pediatricians can use in their practices to recognize a patient who is at-risk or struggling with an eating disorder. The tool kit was created by a pediatrician who specializes in patients with eating disorders. Please contact The Elisa Project for more information.
Teacher Tool Kit
The Teacher Tool Kit provides everything a teacher will need to educate students about eating disorders. This tool kit provides a PowerPoint Presentation, handouts, and a teacher outline. It also includes an FAQ page of questions that students are likely to ask. For more information, please contact The Elisa Project.
